What is a possessive adjective?
In English they are My / Your / His / Her / Our / Their / Its.
Possessive adjectives are used to indicate to what or to whom an object noun belongs.
Example:
David [subject]
started
his [possessive adjective]
car [object].
In some sentences the subject is implied by the possessive adjective:
Example:
My [possessive adjective]
pen [object]
is blue.
In french, the possessive adjective has to agree with the gender of the object.

Votre passeport, s'il vous plait. | Your passport, please. |
Savez-vous où se trouve leur bureau ? | Do you know where their office is? |
Feminine Examples
J'ai renversé du vin sur ma chemise. | I have spilled wine on my shirt. |
Est elle ta mere? | Is she your mother? |
Il a trois ans de moins que sa sœur. | He is three years younger than his sister. |
Notre voiture est rouge. | Our car is red. |
